The client goes home with a spring setting, a cue and a routine to remember. Used together, these two books keep the same work on record on both sides of the session.

The Pilates Notebook For Instructors holds thirty numbered class plans with an index, each with a facing page for cues, transitions and modifications. It has client set-ups for 20 clients using initials only, teaching reflections, a professional development log and notes.

The Pilates Notebook For Home Practice stays with the person practising at home. It holds their set-ups, the exercises they have been taught, their home routines, a library of the classes they return to, a page for every session and pages for the care of their equipment.

An instructor can write the set-ups and cues to practise into the From my instructor or class pages, agree a home routine with the client, and look over their session log at the next lesson.

The pair also suits an instructor with equipment at home, who can keep their teaching in one book and their own practice in the other.

Both books are made by HF Industries, which was established in 1978 and works every day with instructors, studios and people who practise at home. Both are records. They do not teach exercises or give medical advice, and lessons with a qualified instructor remain the best way to learn and to progress.
